Remember the Brooklyn Strangler? Six women were murdered, and the media couldn't have cared less (three guesses why, and the first two don't count). My hairdresser (assuming that hallowed role of gossipmonger) was the one who told me all the lurid details months before they caught the guy. All of my female friends were freaked right the fuck out. The coverage only began after the police found the sixth body.

Oh, well thank goodness it was only crackwhores, the newspapers said.

So what's going on with this case, exactly?
