(i am) concerned about Michael Moore's health

Whether you love Michael Moore or hate him (or feel something more complex), I'm absolutely sure I just saw the most important film of the year (and probably much longer). You should see it too, and drag somebody that doesn't already hate Bush with you if you can. We were able to encourage a couple who "wanted to see if it would change their minds about Bush" behind us in line at the bookstore to go, see it, and judge for themselves.

I just hope every single member of the mainstream media sees it out of curiosity and feels the shame they should that we've not seen some of this footage already.

More tomorrow.

articles about moore/the movie worth peeking at:

NYT ready for his close up--"Based on that single viewing, and after separating out what is clearly presented as Mr. Moore's opinion from what is stated as fact, it seems safe to say that central assertions of fact in "Fahrenheit 9/11" are supported by the public record (indeed, many of them will be familiar to those who have closely followed Mr. Bush's political career)."

We're seeing it first thing tomorrow (we already have tix) and they're warning folks to get to the theatre at least a half an hour early because "There will be a line". Of course, we live in Oakland, but still. Anyway, your entry made me even more excited about seeing it, and just reading through the titles of the links you presented gave me chills. Off to read a few of them now!

I was more blown away by Control Room, but yes it's a very important and interesting film. Worth the price of admission for Lila Lipscomb alone.

We saw it Wednesday, the first day it screened, and every single session was sold out. (We bought our tickets in advance. Well, okay, Mr Organisation Minz did). Everyone in the audience cried along with Lila.

I think the importance is its potential (well, frankly at this point actual) reach, and the fact that while it is an op-ed piece, the facts Moore bases his opinions on are mostly things that have been out there already. That makes it very hard to dismiss.

I definitely want to see Control Room.
