We've broken down and invited someone new into our relationship. I'm so in love with her ability to clean the dishes without the use of my hands.

Dishwashers are great. One of the only things I remember about Marge Piercy's Woman on the Edge of Time is the scene where -- in the utopian future -- a character explains that they don't use machines to cook for them, because cooking is a creative, social activity, but they use automatic dishwashers, because nobody likes washing dishes.

Oooh--dishwasher!
Forget iPods or updated cell phones and PDAs. I decided just a few weeks ago that a dishwasher is next on my list of gadgets to acquire.
