Dishwashers are great. One of the only things I remember about Marge Piercy's Woman on the Edge of Time is the scene where -- in the utopian future -- a character explains that they don't use machines to cook for them, because cooking is a creative, social activity, but they use automatic dishwashers, because nobody likes washing dishes.
